Aromagolic –
The oil is very beautiful, with a bright, juicy aroma. And although the chemotype of this basil is methyl havicol, it is sweeter than linalool oil. When you smell it, it feels like you’re smelling a fresh basil leaf rubbed with your fingers.
Basil essential oil energizes both body and mind. It’s a superb nerve tonic, a natural analgesic and makes an excellent pain-relieving massage blend for sore muscles (I combine it with black pepper, lavender and cedarwood). Also it’s very useful for the respiratory and digestive systems.
I like to add basil oil to salad dressings when there’s no fresh plant on hand.
